Tutoring

We are not your average reading tutors. We are a team of trained and experienced dyslexia interventionists. Our specialized program helps students of all ages become successful readers, writers, and spellers.

WNYDS primarily uses the Barton Reading & Spelling System. Barton is a structured literacy program which uses the Orton-Gillingham teaching approach. Through one-on-one tutoring, students proceed at their own pace as they work through the ten-level Barton system. The goal is not just to pass through these levels. The student will  achieve 95% consistent mastery in each of the skill areas before moving on to the next level.

We know family life is busy, which is why we provide the option for either in-person tutoring at our Amherst office, or the convenience of online instruction from the comfort of your home!

Parents can now have access to a qualified & trained Dyslexia specialist, even if there isn’t one close by!
